Lead In Makeup?

Have you ever taken a deeper look into the ingredients that are in some of the most popular makeup brands? When you take a look at the fine print, you can see that many brands happen to use Lead within their products, which can be extremely dangerous to the human body.

Maybelline is one of the topselling makeup brands all over the world. Many don’t know that their products have some of the highest levels of lead in them. Nearly half of their available foundations and lipsticks contain the harsh chemical. Maybelline’s Color Sensational lipstick in the shade Pink Petal was said to have a level of 7.19 parts per million within that one shade. It is said that Lead can be absorbed through the skin when applied directly.

Loreal Cosmetics also tested as the second highest levels of Lead within their products. Studies show “Over 61% of their lipsticks contain Lead”. Even at the lowest doses, any intake of Lead is not safe for the human body. If products with high levels of Lead are applied daily, this can lead to long-term health conditions, including Cancer, Anemia and brain damage.

So, although these brands may be some of the most popular on the market, is it worth risking your health? With a little research, you can find tons of natural makeup lines available near you. We only get one version of ourself, we always want to make sure we can take the best care of our body.
